That’s funny…

Another in a string of tangentially-Colorado-related posts…

I was reading today’s “Frazz” (or at least, the one courtesy of my Google comics widget)
and came across some pretty obvious Boulder references.  Frazz mentions the “Flatiron Reservoir Triathlon” which sounds pretty Boulder for a fictional event.  He’s also wearing a “5430″ shirt.

Now, Frazz comes close in a lot of ways to being the comic strip I’d create (in my post-Calvin and Hobbes, post-newsprint, too-old-to-read-the-comics-first-anymore life) if I could come up with a stylized drawing technique.  Anyway, close enough that I’d think it was pretty cool if creator Jef Mallett was a Coloradan.

But it turns out he’s from Michigan.  How do you like that?  But did you know Bill Watterson lives in Cleveland Heights?  Well, that fits.  Hey, that’s even cooler than a Boulder reference in Frazz.  But nothing compares to the Born Loser wearing a CWRU sweatshirt, right around the time I was deciding to attend ol’ Case Western Reserve.
